For best results soak in cold water with a bit of wool wash. Lay flat to dry. Minimal bleeding may occur in the first few washes (especially with neons, reds, and blues). Using a colour catcher is a good way to prevent any excess dye getting on your project.
I love hearing how I’ve inspired you to learn how to dye yearn. I am willing to direct you to the videos that helped me get started, but the techniques I use today are techniques I have developed myself. If you do choose to continue into the indie dyer business, I wish you luck, and can’t wait to see all that you create!
Yes. If you are unhappy with your yarn please contact me within 7 days of receiving it. Yarn must be mailed back within 14 business days after your purchase. Yarn must be in it’s original re-sellable packaging, and undamaged. Buyer is responsible for return shipping.
Ready-to-ship items typically mailed within 3-5 business days. Dyed-to-order items can take an additional 2 weeks for processing. If your order combines both dyed-to-order and ready-to-ship it will be mailed out when everything is ready. If anything is delayed, I will keep you informed.
As a homeschooler, dyeing yarn is how I teach my kids colour theory. They love participating! They each help out when they can and have created their own colourways. My oldest is able to help with any of the processes, while my youngest is only able to help with certain processes. All of us wear proper protective equipment when we dye.
I am willing to create a custom colourway for local yarn stores. Please contact me at email@example.com for more information.
Generally, my dye schedule is too busy for other custom colourway requests, but I have made exceptions in the past. If you have an amazing colourway idea feel free to contact me and let me know!
